Overview

This company and a world leading yachting manufacturing business who deliver high quality vessels all over the work. Due to recent demand and therefore increased orders following COVID, Torque Consulting were tasked with growing the production staff work force.

Strategy

The key was to provide a quick and efficient recruitment process, ensuring candidates were fully prepared for interviews with excellent knowledge of the business, meaning all the client had to do was test the persons skill set

Challenges Faced

Having not recruited in such volume before, had to assess and review the current hiring process to understand where to start, this involved meeting the hiring team to understood what they had done so far.

This company are known to be a big hirer in the area, so our challenge was to find candidates who were un-aware of the business, it was our job to come up with new and innovative way to attract talent to add real value to the recruitment process.

Finally, due to the high-volume recruitment and dealing with hundreds of candidates each day, the Torque Team had to find a way to manage candidates interview times, preparation calls, start dates, probation period reviews were key to success.

Solutions

Firstly, due to the network of candidates we pride ourselves on having, we started out with referrals, asking everyone with the relevant skill set either working at the client or another business, who do they know that is looking. This allowed us to initially uncover several people without a CV online. We then worked with the client to run paid marketing campaigns, again to reach further afield to candidates that make have not known this client existed. Finally, we worked with the client to pin down key works and skills which opened up the search parameters.

Working very closely with the Recruitment Manager, we used a tracking system to ensure both sides knew the status of all candidates. This lead to really quick turnaround times on both CV feedback and then interview slots ensuring good candidates did not have to partake in a long recruitment process.

Results

The Recruitment Manager left the follow recommendation: “I have been working with Josh for the past five months. I find the Torque Team and Josh are very professional, diligent, and productive with a very good understanding of the market as well as the time urgency needed in recruiting successfully. Josh has been extremely responsive and resourceful in helping us identify some great candidates. I would have no hesitation in giving my recommendations.”
