Polypipe Building Products works with national and local developers, plumbing and heating engineers, general builders and groundworkers to deliver above and below ground drainage systems, rainwater solutions as well as hot and cold plastic plumbing products.This is a fix-term Maternity cover role for 12 months.Role: To carry out visual and dimensional checks throughout the site in accordance with standards and procedures to ensure the products produced consistently meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.To ensure nonconforming product is clearly identified and segregated from stock to remove any risk of it reaching the customer.This role is on a fixed term basis covering maternity leave for 12 months.Responsibilities:Shifts to be handed over efficiently ensuring all relevant information is passed on and reports correctly completed and emails to be checked at the start of the shift for any information which may be relevant to your working day.Check calibration status of all measuring devices and report to the Quality Manager, any that are found not to be calibrated. Any damage must also be reported.Carry out dimensional and visual checks at intervals as indicated on the Quality plan and / or Daily Quality Assurance Record (DQAR)Record results on the Daily Quality Assurance Record (DQAR) for each machine/line.Complete all sections on the DQARRecord material batch numbers where applicable on the DQARSelect Samples for test’ in accordance with the relevant Quality Plan. Re-samples must be selected and passed to the lab when required.Carry out visual checks on each machine/line continuously throughout the shift.Inform the operator of all potential defects / faults that are likely to occur to enable the operator to be vigilant.Report all faults / defects immediately to the Quality Manager, QA Technical Support Engineer or Shift Supervisor in the Managers absence.Apply reject tape to all reject product and segregate the product from stock.Complete the daily shift report.Apply bonded tape to nonconforming product and ensure that the N/C number is clearly written on the tape or a separate bonded sticker’.Raise an N/C report, with all sections completed. Include description, code, quantity, fault, actual dimensions if applicable, location, actions taken or outstanding and distribute electronically.Do not allow machine to run if there is oil on the product (moulding).Do not allow reject pipe to go on the drums (extrusion).Ensure PPE is used where indicated on SWP.Requirements:Knowledge of H&S and Environmental requirementsKnowledge and understanding of Product Specifications (internal & external)Ability to use and read measuring instruments within departmentBe self motivated and have the ability to make decisions on own initiative.Be reliable and trustworthy.Ability to communicate at all levels.Be computer literate to basic standardsBe fully aware of the company rules and procedures as laid down in the company employee handbookActively promote a positive image of the company at all timesHere at the Genuit Group we recognise and develop the contribution our people make to the Group’s success and are committed to attracting talent from the widest pool.
